How the masters rankings work
One rating per rider
Lap times count most, then finish times, then placings. Every course, every day, is rated for difficulty. A rating is percent per lap against an average Men’s Cat 4.
Age groups
Cyclocross Nationals brackets, by racing age. Masters can race down, not up, so racing an older field puts a rider in it.
Close calls
Too close to separate? The winner of their last meeting ranks higher.
